Elgin City v The Binos

Recommended Posts

This Saturday we travel north to Elgin to face an Elgin side 3 points ahead of us in the League. Always a difficult place to pick up points and hopefully on Saturday we will get something from this game unlike the last time we faced them and lost 3-0 in the Betfred Cup.

Need to keep the momentum going in the League if we want to get that 4th spot for the playoffs and I would be happy with a share of the points on Saturday.

Team news Josh Peters could return to the side on Saturday, whist Darryl Duffy is suspended for this game. Weather forecast will be cold, so wrap up warm if your heading up to the game.

Prediction Elgin City 1 Binos 1

Huge game for both teams, assuming Cove beat Annan, it makes things interesting for the winner of this game.

Quite mental to think that just over a month ago, there was a real fear through some of our support that we were going to finish bottom, win this game and we are really in the mix for that 4th Play Off spot.

Always found that Elgin are a far better attacking team rather than a defending one. If you allow them to gain confidence they thrive. Frustrate them and they begin to Fray at the edges. We have the ability to block them defensively. Question is can we score more than them?

Yes good question 10 goals scored so far, really hope our strikers find the net on Saturday otherwise we could be coming down the road pointless.

Firstly, it shouldn’t  just be down to the strikers to score goals. Secondly, the strikers are largely dependant on the service they are provided. Thirdly, if a team is struggling to score goals there is an obvious way to compensate for that.

Confident for some reason therefore £10 on us at 13/5.  Can't go so just makes it even more interesting.

Strikes me we are now a very solid, dependable team. There seems to be a consistency of performance and we are very tight defensively. Elgin have been on a great run recently so that is a top result. Happy times, at long last.

best thing off all cove getting humped 6-1 at annan paul hartley has a chip on his shoulder size off the bass rock  when he was arguing with the linesman threwout our loss at cove screaming for kevin nichol to get sent off bad day all round for the top two . maybe two many points behind now , but at the moment were not far off being the best side in league 2 just now

In Current Form Lg, last 5 games, we're joint 2nd with Edin & Elgin. Cove top obvs

Just need to keep it up for another 20-odd games! It's nice we've started to win games. Beat Brechin next week and we can stop worrying about relegation.

Can't argue with three points, well done. Nice return for Josh and Bikey gets his first league goal. I hope it's the start of better things for both players and the rest of us for that matter.

Here are the form tables for the last 6 and 8 games.

Substantively the strongest defense in the League apart from Cowdenbeath - and they are now looking weak up front.

Our goal scoring probably still needs improved consistency if we're to actually challenge for promotion; but all the signs are pointing in a positive direction.

I'd suggest Brechin won't be looking forward to their trip to Forthbank and they'd be right. If there was ever a game to chalk up some goals, next week is the week to do it.

Mon the Binos!
